Faux leather sounds better than pleather

Ooh look at me blogging 2 days in a row hahaha. This is what I wore today to combat Jhb’s bipolar weather. On 5 different occassions, I was convinced it was going to rain yet the sun came out every single time. I contemplated wearing sneakers today but opted for my brogues instead (See how I wore them here) with this faux leather skirt from Mr Price.

I was a bit camera shy today because some lady in our complex kept peeping at me through the window. I should’ve invited her down to come & pose with me lol

Ballerina Flats

 

Hello there beauties

What do you think of my version of the infamous Lacoste pose? Yes I know I don’t look as graceful as the actual Lacoste models but these shoes bring out the “wannabe” ballerina in me. Wanna know something interesting? I actually did ballet in primary school but found the sport way too girly and opted to scream “Ich, Ni, Sun, Chi” with the boys at karate. LOL.

 

Quick story about these shoes? I recently revamped them by replacing the laces with ribbon for a more chic ballerina look. I’m totally obsessed with ribbon (As see here and here) but I cannot think of anything more feminine than a touch of ribbon to a simple outift. What makes me love these flats even more is how unbelievably comfortable they are. It’s so light and soft and makes walking feel quite effortless

New in: Nike Blazer

Welcome home to my new babies! They were born today at midday after a very seductive yet brief encounter with Zando. LOL! I know I may sound like a serious shopping addict but these little guys were just begging for a home; hidden in the depths of the Zando search pages, they could easily have been overlooked… But FATE was in our favour despite the terrible signal and near empty bank account! The fact that it was the LAST PAIR, which happened to be in my SIZE, was no co-incidence in my eyes. Justification of a shopaholic LOL!

Its all in the necklace

 

This was my #ootd yesterday to visit the parentals. I took these pics without wearing the little bit of make up that I usually do wear, hence the very bland face lol. Sometimes my skin just needs a break (especially since I’ve been wearing make up a bit more often than usual lately) and yesterday was the perfect day to rock the “minimalist” look lol

 Do you just love the statement necklace? I went to “browse” the sale section at Lovisa and happened to spot this gorgeous necklace which unfortunately was not on sale. I did the “puppy eyes” thing I usually do when I’m hoping Le husband says “just buy it” which he did of course lol. Gotta love Le husband!

Monochrome work wear

 

This is the first of my many work look posts to come. This is a classic monochrome outfit that is both plain and simple yet appropriate for the office. Wearing a pencil skirt makes me feel so “workified” and womanly. I just love corporate wear!

Neon love take 2

 

A pop of neon to make a plain outfit stand out! I found these shoes at the woolies sale for a fraction of the original price... It was the last pair & in my size (I just love it when that happens) This tee once belonged to Le husband but it shrunk in the washing machine and has since been handed down to me. Its slightly to big for me but I’d never say no to a hand me down lol.

Timbs, a sweater & a welcome to March

Hello lovies

I can’t believe it’s March already! We welcomed the year 2013 what seems like just yesterday & I already feel the pressure of not crossing enough items off my 2013 goals list. I really need to get a move on.

 

Instead of dwelling too much on my outfit, I thought it would be appropriate to share what’s been going on in my world recently. If you follow me on twitter, you will know that I started a new job on Friday. Although I’m very nervous about being WAY out of my comfort zone, I am very excited about this new career opportunity and its endless possibilities. Two days in & already I feel like I’ve found where I belong. Don’t get me wrong, I usually hate the first 2 or 3 months in a new role because I always put myself under immense pressure to learn everything there is to know about the position, in record time. This role is no different, but my future self has already assured me that I’ll fit in. The most flattering part thus far? Being mistaken for the new graduate on the graduates programme! Oh, and I also received a shout out on ujfm wishing me luck for my first day. Perks of being friends with the host LOL!

 

 

Onto my very plain outfit... What more can I say except that it was a bit overcast and I only left home to get last minute birthday gifts (which I still haven’t given out as yet... oops!) I don’t know about you but if I’m not going to get a FULL DAYS wear out of my outfit, I don’t make much of an effort.... I will however be sharing a few work wear posts in the next few weeks to come so you may not hear (or read) about how bored I am with certain casual looks. (Don’t jump for joy just yet... I said 'may not'... LOL)
