Mustard without the ketchup

There is no story to tell about this dress except that it was very cheap LOL! I love playing around with my style and granny dresses are no exception to my experiments. The weather in JHB was amazing on Saturday and although I could’ve chosen something more summery to wear, I insisted on wearing this dress since I hadn’t worn it in a while. I’m trying to give my favourite items a break so that I can get a good wear out of ALL my clothes.

This girl has a hood side :)

WOW JHB had some gloomy weather this weekend and Sunday was the perfect day to let my “hood side” make an appearance. What’s more hood than a pair of timbs right? ;) I bought these timbs from the timberland kiddies section since it’s a size 5. It’s not often that my feet feel small since I’m 1.69m tall so I’m going to boast about it lol.
I'm so loving these jeans at the moment. You will be seeing it a lot more often. I've got so many items I'm dying to pair it with

My favourite LBD

This is my favourite LBD and I’m soooo depressed that the pics I took just don’t do it any justice. I got this dress from my love for my graduation and I can’t get over how good I feel when I wear it. It was raining on Saturday and we attended a wedding so I’m blaming the weather and the occasion for the not so flattering pics. I know you probably thinking “black to a wedding? How could she?” I must admit, I don’t really put much thought into the colours I choose to wear to a wedding... As long as it’s not white... That’s as far as my thinking process goes. I may not be a stylist but I don’t think you can ever go wrong with an LBD.

The perfect Brogue

I had 2 items I was dying to wear on Sunday: linen shorts gifted by my sister Cleo (My other sisters name is Alexia. I just noticed that I never ever referred to them by name in any of my posts???) & my handmade brogues I bought while on holiday in Cape Town last year... My luck had it that the 2 items I insisted on wearing actually went quite well together (In my opinion of course :)

I absolutely love these brogues & yes they too have a story which I will insist on sharing lol. I bought these beauties at MEMEME, a boutique on Long Street (also in Parkhurst in Johannesburg) that stock amazing bold fashion from some of thee best designers In S.A. Any fashionista can vouch for that. (You can find more information about MEMEME here) After I had spotted these perfectly crafted gems, I immediately pictured them filling a NOT SO empty space in my closet. At that point, I had already lost the battle to my shopaholic alter ego, before even knowing the price. After paying for these shoes, the actual shoe maker made a trip to the store to bring different laces and I almost kicked myself! This shoe maker was the tailor I had walked past some few blocks before Long Street. Had I known that this man was the actual show maker of these perfect brogues, I would’ve begged him to sell me 2 pairs for the price MEMEME charges for a pair. You win some and you lose some I guess.

Coffee date for 2

Saturday evening, my love and I decided to go for a little coffee date at Motherland in Rosebank. Motherland coffee shop is one of the few coffee shops that gives off a look and feel similar to Starbucks. I loved their cafe Mocha but their brownie on the other hand left much to be desired. I was completely disappointed but my loves company made up for its shortfalls.

Onto my outfit, I wore 2 of my latest additions: My Zara jeans and converse sneakers (See my post about my latest additions here) Toward the end of 2012, I was on a quest to wear every single unworn item in my closet before buying anything new... As you can see, my attempt was rather unsuccessful :(

Floral pants makes its debut

Remember I told you about these floral pants here? A round of applause is in order for its first official debut on my blog. I wore this to a bridal shower and absolutely loved the attention it got. This is probably thee most daring item I own at the moment (told you I could be quite plain and boring) but I definitely intend on getting a good wear out of them.
Until now, I hadn’t realised that I was wearing Zara head to toe (apart for my clutch and accessories) I’m not a fan of wearing one brand head to toe but since this was unintentional, I can let it slide hey?
