Easy like Sunday Morning

HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!

Hope you had an amazing weekend and an awesome week thus far!
I’m back with a post-weekend lookpost (obvs LOL) on what I wore to (a long overdue) Arts on Main date with my girlfriends. Not only did I get to spend some quality time with my primary school friendships (yes we go that far back) but I also got to take my new turban headband for a walk ;) I saw this super cool headband on Laiqahs instagram and knew I had to have one too. *Warning: Enter Laiqah’s blog with caution! Her style is AHMAZING and will definitely result in the sudden urge to go shopping*

You've just been Faux-Furred

Welcome back to my blog Beauties. For those of you visiting for the first time, I hope visiting my blog will be worth your while

This is what I wore to the decorex yesterday. I wore my Faux fur. AGAIN! I’m a real girl and real girls where their clothes all.the.time. I love pairing the same statement item with different pieces to make the most out of my closet and this faux fur Gilet from Legit seems to go with everything. I also wore it here. Which look do you prefer?
I only realized when I was Instagramming (is that even a word?) my outfit that I was head to toe in Zara. This love affair with Zara needs to stop! Ok maybe not but I need to give other stores a chance (Le Husband is probably cringing reading this right now. I’m kidding babe... No shopping! *wink*)

Blouse, Skinny Jeans, Silk blouse, bag and red heels Zara| Faux Fur Gilet Legit| Karma and Arrow necklace Gift from LadyZaa (she's unbelievably sweet)

Denim on Denim

Hello and Happy Tuesday everyone

I decided to do a quick outfit post on what I wore on Saturday. I have been searching high and low for the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans and finally found a pair at guess where? LOLz. Here’s the secret… These jeans are actually straight cut jeans that are 2 or 3 sizes too big. My #clingyfriendship was in complete disbelief when I decided to try them on because they looked so huge. I often surprise myself with my random substitutes when I can find what I’m looking for and this time I emerged from the fitting room completely satisfied with my substitute find. Then my day was really made when #clingyfriendship insisted on buying the jeans for me. How sweet is she? She gets me!

I love these two tone flats that I found at a boutique in Bangkok almost 2 years ago. Although Bangkok had amazing shoes, there weren’t many stores that stocked shoes up to a size 6 so my options were VERY limited. (Damn you people with small feet!)

With Eid preparations starting, the rest of this week will be crazy for me. I will probably be back next week with some cool outfit posts (I cleaned my white converse….. So don’t be surpised when you keep seeing them!) To all my muslim readers, Eid Mubarak. Hope the month of Ramadaan has been a rewarding and religiously uplifting month and that we close off with a blessed Eid Insha’Allah! Keep my family and I in your duas and may we all live to see many more Ramadaans Insha’Allah. Ameen

The Sulimans in Singapore

Hello Hello :)

This is LONG overdue post about my recent (well not that recent) trip to Singapore and I literally don’t know where to start. I’m not much of a writer (or much of a photographer LOLz) but travelling has become a big part of my life and excluding it from my blog would completely defeat the purpose since it is called “My life as Nas”.

There are so many places on my Travel list and I must admit that Singapore wasn’t very high up there. Le husband and I originally planned to go to Istanbul but due to flight overbooking, we ended up with booking flights to Singapore, 3 days before we were scheduled to leave. (Options are pretty limited when you require a destination at such short notice when you’re a South African passport holder)

We arrived at Changi Airport just before midnight and didn’t know what to expect at all. I had imagined the airport to be as busy and lively as Bangkok’s main airport but Changi had let my imagination down. We arrived to a relatively empty airport with an even quieter train station since the train service ends at 11:30. I was soooo impressed (Insert sarcastic tone here) I’m very apprehensive about using taxi’s in foreign countries because it can be very expensive and quite unsafe with taxi scams being on the rise in many countries. Since we hadn’t booked hotel transfers and didn’t have an alternative mode of transport, we made our way to the taxi stand and hoped for the best.

Our taxi driver was such a pleasant elderly man filled with enthusiasm for his “South African passengers”. Before our little commute to our hotel, Ridhwaan and I had not had much of an itinerary planned but that quickly changed as soon as the conversation with our taxi driver started.

Singapore is a relatively small country so we managed to explore so many places in a short space of time. 6 days was more than enough to see everything that interested us with ample time to spare to visit our favourite sights more than once. The country is rich in diversity and boasts a large Indian, Chinese, Malay and Arab population. This is evident through towns called “little India”, Chinatown, Bugis and the “Arab section”. There are so many mosques, churches and various Hindu, Chinese and Buddhist temples throughout Singapore which reminds me a lot of South Africa because of our religious diversity.

Overall I had an amazing touristy trip with my love. For once, I opted to go site seeing over shopping which is definitely a milestone for me. Although I did sneak in a few gorgeous buys along the way ;) I’ll share those with you in future outfit posts.

I would love to hear (or read) about your travels. Which countries are on your travel list? Any places you’ve visited that were an out of this world experience?
