New Years Day & a Brand new me!

Hello there beauties :)

New years eve 5 or 6 years ago would’ve been spent partying into the new year leaving little or no energy to do anything on new years day except lounge around. My idea of fun has evolved significantly; while some may find the “transformed” me boring, I love the person I’ve become. This may make me sound like I’m 26 (gasp! Still trying to get use to my new age) going on 70, but I really have “been there, done that, got the t-shirt and blogged it”- New me is craving a different quality of life.

After spending most of my birthday in Hartebeespoort, I discovered so many hidden treasures that I never found appealing before, but I’m dying to try now. When Ismail suggested Cable Carts in the H- Town over mainstream Sun City for New Years Day, I was obvs game! (I love Sun City; I just hate Sun City on New Years Day)

Gorgeous weather, a (misfit) group of peeps, fattening pizza and a spectacular view were just the right ingredients for an awesome day! I really enjoyed having lunch on a man made deck in the hills. Everything is so chilled and its the ideal place for a picnic. If we could take a webber braai into the cable cart we probably would’ve had a good old braai; I’m a sucker for a good piece of braai steak and potato salad.

Now that H- Town and I will be seeing a lot more of each other, I will be introducing a few “Dora Nas the Explorer” type posts in between fashion and (occassional) travel posts. I took a lot more pics of my peeps than the scenery because, you know, we all needed new social media profile pics- LOL!

Have an awesome weekend :)

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

It feels so surreal to be writing a post bidding farewell to 2013. Less than a day to go before we all enthusiastically welcome the New Year, today feels like the opportune moment to reflect on 2013.

This time last year, I made a commitment to invest in myself and spend more time on things that would make me a happier version of me. In addition, was a set of 10 attainable goals that I was determined to achieve. 7/10 goals under my belt and a more free spirited upgraded version of me later; I am pleasantly surprised by my achievements this year.

This year has taught me balance; to work hard and play just as hard. While focusing on my career and academic goals, I have devoted just as much time to dusting the dirt off my once buried outgoing personality; my blog has helped me achieve that. I have met amazing people, played around with fashion and used my blog as a place to document my thoughts and experiences albeit through look posts ;)

To my regular blog readers and stalkers (I see you lol) thank you so much for your views, comments and genuine support. I’m far from pro level, but looking forward to improving my content (and hopefully more regular posts) in 2014. Don’t forget to follow my blog to see the transformation as it unfolds

Have an amazing new year filled with lots of love, happiness, health and prosperity. Let’s make it a year to remember!!!

As a fashion blogger, it’s only fitting that I close off with an outfit post.

Street Style for Sunglass Hut

Hello there beauties

On Thursday I attended the #SghComeandPlay (Sunglass hut) event and it was absolutely amazing! I will be doing a separate post with all the deets about the event but for now, just know that it involved a few big SA celebs, great entertainment and a very generous R2000 Sunglass hut voucher, which I already redeemed against a brand new pair of Prada sunnies. *Swoooooon*

Have I mentioned before how much I love distressed denim boyfriend jeans? These are a size too big but I prefer baggy over the fit of my actual size which always seems to be too fitted to be a boyfriend :/ I love this Marc Jacobs inspired blouse that I found at Forever 21 and just realized that this is its official debut on my blog (If you follow me on Instagram, you probably would’ve seen this blouse before)

Jeans and heels Zara| Blouse Forever 21| Leather jacket Adidas| Hat Topshop

What do you think of this look?
